Wild Flower Season
Swartriet is a paradise for sea lovers and bird watchers. Whales
visit from July to November, European Bee-Eaters visit in September.The
rare Black Oystercatcher is often seen along this stretch of coastline.
During the spring wildflower season, the area turns
into a sea of colour.

Sea-kayakers will find a coastline
full of rocky outcrops, small bays and secluded unspoilt beaches.
Dolphins, whales and seals are often spotted. Obtain a crayfish
permit and collect your own seafood. Mountain bikers can explore
interesting fishing villages and cycle through tranquil wheat
fields.
